BIKE RIDES & EVENTS Daffodil Classic (April) The Daffodil Classic bicycle ride winds through the beautiful Orting valley and surrounding hills. Bring your bike, tricycle, tandem, or unicycle----families, recreational cyclists, and serious roadies are all welcome. Choose from 40-mile, 60-mile, or 100-mile loops; or a family-friendly, paved trail option from 1 mile up to 30 miles. April 10, 2011. Lilac Century Ride (May) May 15, 2011 is the 18th Annual Lilac Century. 100 mile, 66 mile, 50 mile, 25 mile rides and 5k fun run for the whole family. Great riding on some of the Inland Northwest’s best roads. Bring out the whole family and enjoy a day of fun while you support the local rotary club.
STOKR (May) The Scenic Tour Of the Kootenai River May 14-15, 2011 has a 48-mile or 98-mile ride on Saturday, then a 37-miler Sunday; proceeds go to Habitat of Humanity. TOSRV (May) 41st Annual Tour of the Swan River Valley on Saturday, May 21 and Sunday, May 22, 2011. TOSRV West is a two-day, challenging and fun bicycle tour through one of western Montana's most scenic areas. RATPOD (June) The Ride Around The Pioneers in One Day is a 130-mile ride in the Big Hole Valley of Montana on June 25, 2011, to benefit Camp Mak-A-Dream. Ride de Root (July) The Ride de Root is a new ride covering 100 miles in the Bitterroot Valley of Montana on July 9, 2011. Ride Idaho (August) August 7 - 13, 2011. This annual 7-day, fully supported ride for 300 cyclists travels different Idaho routes each year. Visit the website for details. WaCanId Ride (September) Sept. 20-24, 2011. Multiple-day, 280-mile ride for individuals or teams around the gorgeous International Selkirk Loop scenic route that passes through Sandpoint up to Nelson, British Columbia, and back through northeastern Washington. C4S, Cycle For the Symphony (September) New cycling event, C4S, held on 9/18/10. The ride begins in Philipsburg traveling the Flint Creek Ramble for 112 miles, ending back in Philipsburg. 3 fully stocked stops along the ride with breakfast in Drummond, lunch in Deer Lodge, an energy stop in Anaconda. Hosted by Missoula Symphony Association.
BICYCLE GROUPS & MEETUPS Pend Oreille Pedalers Link up to our local bicycle advocacy group, offering organized group rides and area riding information, as well as championing rider issues. North Idaho Bikeways Volunteers working since 1995 to establish a network of bike paths in Sandpoint and neighboring communities. Link up for a map of established paths.
